Robert Marten joined The Rockefeller Foundation in 2010. Mr. Marten manages relationships with current and prospective grantees throughout the grantmaking process, coordinates Foundation work with partners, and conducts research in support of the strategic development and execution of Foundation initiatives. He works on the Transforming Health Systems (THS) initiative.

Prior to joining The Rockefeller Foundation, Mr. Marten worked as a consultant with the World Bank, the World Health Organization and German Technical Cooperation in Zambia and South Africa. He also worked as a researcher at the Global Public Policy Institute in Germany and served as a United Nations Volunteer on HIV/AIDS in Vietnam.

Mr. Marten received a bachelor’s degree from McGill University, a master’s degree in public policy from the Hertie School of Governance, a certificate in global health effectiveness from the Harvard School of Public Health, a master’s degree in public health from Johns Hopkins University and is pursuing a doctoral degree from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.
