Sergio Kurlat is a consultant economist with the Development Prospects Group. He was a co-author of the 2009 issue of the Global Development Finance report, which addressed the consequences of the global financial crisis on capital flows. He also co-authored Chapter 2 of the first Global Development Horizons, the new flagship publication analyzing long-term trends and formulating future scenarios. In addition, he contributes regularly to the team’s briefing notes on international finance issues. Before he joined the Prospects Group, Sergio worked at the Macroeconomics and Growth team, where he published papers on the relationship between political conditions and economic growth. Sergio graduated cum laude in Economics from the University of Buenos Aires. He holds a Master in Economics from the University of Maryland and an MBA from Duke University.
