Stefano Pagiola
Stefano Pagiola is a Senior Environmental Economics in the Public Goods Unity of the Environment and Natural Resources Global Practice. He has an MA and PhD from Stanford University, and taught environmental economics at Stanford University prior to joining the World Bank as a Young Professional in 1994. He currently leads the World Bank's innovative work on Payments for Environmental Services (PES), focusing on operational support to projects that use this approach and other economic tools to encourage conservation, including projects in LCR, AFR, and ECA, and on drawing lessons from these projects for application throughout the Bank's work.
