Susan Shen has been working on the nexus between environment, social development including inclusion, and rural development including policy development and capacity development in the World Bank Asia regions for more than twenty years. In China, she had led the long-term engagement in the forestry sector which introduced many innovative practices that were adopted by the government. Previous to the World Bank, Ms. Shen worked as a senior policy analyst for the US Congressional Office of Technology Assessment that led to the development of legislation related to biodiversity conservation for the US Government. M. Shen has a Master Degree from Yale University and a Bachelor of Science Degree from Tufts University.
