Umar Serajuddin is a senior economist in the World Bank’s Development Data Group, where he leads the Sustainable Development Statistics team, covering a range of socioeconomic, demographic and environmental data. He is closely involved with the Bank’s Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) monitoring initiatives. Previously, he has worked as a poverty expert for the Bank’s South Asia and Middle East and North Africa regions.
