Valentina Rollo is completing her PhD in International Economics at the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies (IHEID) in Geneva. Her dissertation focuses on international trade in developing countries, and her research includes work on the role of the internet in favoring inclusive innovation. She holds a Master in European Economics from the College of Europe in Bruges, Belgium, and a Master in International Economics from the IHEID in Geneva. Her academic experience has been complemented by substantial policy work in international trade and development with several international organizations (World Bank, UNCTAD, OECD, ILO, and European Commission). Valentina is currently Technical Officer in the Employment Department of the ILO. She has published articles in peer reviewed journals (World Development, the World Bank Economic Review).
