The prevention and disaster risk management approach is imperative especially for developing countries that barely budget for disaster response and most times resort to budget cuts from sectors as a form of financial response when crises strike. Consequently, the aftermath is immense in terms of economic, social and environmental damage since more time is spent on mobilizing resources to respond as the disaster and crises augment.
