On Tuesday I traveled to the United Nations to talk to UNICEF's Executive Board and also to meet with UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon on moving forward with the important work that we do together. These meetings are key to delivering results because our UN colleagues and we are committed to working closely together. Making that happen requires many things, including a big dose of humility. Please watch the video for more on this.

I wish everyone could listen to this message and do their ego 'check-ins' in addition to the mid-year performance check-ins that we're currently doing. A great message - thank you, Mr. President!

Not sure whether your message - publicly posted - would have any impact or whether it would hurt the big ego and turf mentality of the potential partners/stakeholders. It would have been good to hear about your action items, especially if there are any collective actions. Thank you for your openness and courage, though, to publicly make this point.

Thank you for reiterating the call for keeping our eyes on achieve the 2015 Millennium Development Goals. With so much attention on the post-2015 conversation, it's easy to lose sight of the fact that we still have two more years and a lot of work ahead to help end poverty now. Let's not lose ground on the gains we've made since 2000 as we start to plan the post-2015 agenda.
