Taking Communities of Practice Global

This page in:
This week in Brazil, policy-makers and experts gather together for a week long south-south forum where ideas and innovations in delivering social protection systems are shared.  Participants were able to learn and exchange knowledge on implementing systems and possible synergies with related social areas such as nutrition, health and employment programs. Special sessions also allow participants to interact and build a network of practitioners that will continue discussions and collaboration beyond the forum. Presently, there are regional social protection communities of practice (CoPs) operating in Africa, Europe and Central Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean, and the Middle East and North Africa regions.

Amadeus Kamagenge, director of community support for Tanzania’s Social Action Fund, represented Africa’s community of practice and shares his insights on the Bank’s role in facilitating interaction among communities of practice and to ensure momentum even after the forum.
