Have you ever stopped to think about the repercussions of climate change or poverty in your life? It can be so subtle that quite often we don’t even notice.

December 1 is World AIDS Day—a day to take stock on where we stand in the fight against HIV/AIDS, recognize achievements, and plan for even greater achievements. This year, there is some good news to celebrate the day with! According to the latest update from the Joint United Nations Program on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS):

    How many of you keep journals where you write down your thoughts and feelings? Does it make you feel good to get it all out on paper? Art in all its forms, whether writing, music, painting, dancing, etc. has been found to have an immensely therapeutic power on people. Often, it helps people give vent to deeply buried emotions and trauma that perhaps they would not face otherwise.

    Maybe it's the bright lights and majestic skyscrapers. Or maybe it's theaters and shopping and cafes. Usually, though, it's just the pragmatic search for employment. Whatever the reason, big cities have lured people throughout the ages, and in many cases it really is a siren call...urban life can be tough going.

    Did you join the rest of the world to Stand Up against poverty this year? From September 17-19, people all over the world shouted out a single message: “We will not stay silent in the face of poverty!”
