Imagine there’s one factor without which development is not possible. Without it, there can be no economic development, no human rights, no peace and security.
Well, there actually is such a factor. And that factor is women.
It’s not surprising then, that the UN saw fit to have a whole day dedicated each year to women and their crucial role in making the world a better place.
This year, the theme of the day is: Equal access to education, training and science and technology: Pathway to decent work for women.
What are your thoughts on the theme? If you’re a woman, have you any personal experiences related to the theme? Do women and girls in your community typically have equal access to education, and are they equally encouraged to pursue science and technology training?
What about all you guys out there? Have you paid attention to how things are for girls and women in your communities? What have you observed in the areas of education and science?
Share your experiences!
