Stuck on an island with your favorite football stars

If being stuck on a remote island with the dream team - 10 of your favorite football stars - sounds like something you’d be interested in, keep reading.

A new comic book launched by the UN will help you learn about the Millennium Development Goals through an adventure with your favorite football (or soccer for you Americans) stars.

Ten star footballers on their way to a charity game are shipwrecked, and while on the island, need to survive – in the process tackling the 8 development goals that the world is trying to meet by 2015.

If you want to know who the stars are before you decide to check the book out, here’s the lineup: Emmanuel Adebayor, Roberto Baggio, Michael Ballack, Iker Casillas, Didier Drogba, Luis Figo, Raúl, Ronaldo, Patrick Vieira, and Zinédine Zidane.

Once you have learnt about the 8 goals, you won't need to sit around and wait for others to achieve them. The book also gives you 10 ideas for action on achieving them by 2015; simple things that you can get started on right away.

You can also take a look at this slideshow which shows the role sports can play in achieving those goals.
