Dr. Kingsley Konadu is a seasoned finance executive, public-sector reform leader, and business transformation specialist with over 20 years of experience across Africa’s public and private sectors. He currently serves as Acting Deputy Commissioner for Tax Audit Quality Assurance at the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), where he leads strategic initiatives to strengthen audit quality, enhance compliance, improve efficiency, and build institutional trust.
At the GRA, he is driving key reforms including the rollout of a nationwide Audit Management Solution, initiatives to tax e-commerce and cross-border digital transactions, and participation in the national VAT reform working group. He also serves as a cross-cutting lead on the Integrated Tax Administration System (ITAS), supporting automation and system integration, and plays a central role in advancing the Authority’s TADAT maturity through improvements in governance, processes, and service delivery. Additionally, he established the quality-assurance governance framework for tax audits across both Domestic Tax and Customs operations.
Dr Konadu’s corporate experience includes senior leadership roles within the MTN Group across Ghana, Liberia, Côte d’Ivoire, and South Africa. As Chief Financial Officer of MTN Liberia, he led a major turnaround that delivered over significant cost savings, restored revenue growth, and secured funding for business expansion.
He is a Fellow of ACCA (UK), a Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA), a Chartered Tax Practitioner (CITG), and a member of ICA Ghana. He holds an MBA in Strategic Planning from Heriot-Watt University, Mater of Applied Business Research from SBS Swiss Business School and executive education from IMD Business School. His Doctor of Business Leadership research focused on purposeful leadership, organizational integrity, and public-sector transformation.
