Water Resources Management Specialist

Melissa Castera Errea is a Water Resources Management Specialist for the Europe and Central Asia Region at the World Bank. She has extensive experience working on technical and institutional problems in the water sector and has worked on investment projects in a variety of developing countries. Her special interests include water resources planning and management, water storage, flood and drought risk management, international rivers and transboundary issues, institutional and policy analysis, and adaptation to climate change.

Prior to joining the World Bank, she worked at the Office of Planning and Budget in Uruguay on water-related projects design and construction supervision, and as a site construction engineer for water projects.  She holds a master of science in environmental management from Yale University, and both a master and bachelor of science in hydraulic engineering from the Universidad de la Republica, Uruguay.
