Senior Health Economist

Parviz Ahmadov is a Senior Health Economist at the World Bank in the Health, Nutrition, and Population Global Practice, based in Washington, DC. His work focuses on health financing, health service delivery, and health system strengthening, including social and private health insurance, provider payment reform, national health policy development, and the design and evaluation of digital health platforms to support improved service delivery and financial sustainability.

Parviz joined the World Bank in 2018 and has worked across the Europe and Central Asia, Middle East and North Africa, and South Asia regions. He has contributed to the World Bank’s Investment Project Financing, Advisory Services and Analytics, and Reimbursable Advisory Services, supporting governments on health financing reforms, digital transformation of health service delivery, health insurance system development, and health system performance improvement. He has authored and co-authored multiple World Bank analytical reports and policy notes.

Parviz holds a Master of Public Health from Harvard University and a Master of International Development Policy from Duke University.
