Patrizia Canziani joined IFC’s Global FIG team in April 2024 as Senior Manager of the Structured Products Group.

In this role, Patrizia leads IFC’s capital markets business within FIG, which develops products, asset classes, and initiatives that address financial institutions’ financing and risk-management needs, mobilize private investment, and advance local market development. She also promotes and supports her team in designing and implementing innovative financing and capital optimization solutions for financial institutions in emerging and developing markets to enable high-impact investments. These efforts create compelling investment opportunities that increase capital flows to emerging markets and deliver capital markets solutions to the real sector, leveraging IFC’s long-standing expertise and relationships with banks, non-bank financial institutions, asset owners, and managers.

Patrizia brings over 25 years of prior experience in capital markets, credit, and structured finance. Before joining IFC, Patrizia established and led successful teams at JP Morgan, Deutsche Bank, Merrill Lynch, Nomura, and MUFG, working closely with issuers, institutional investors, commercial banks, and rating agencies to design, underwrite, and place innovative finance solutions.

She holds a PhD in Economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and a Laurea summa cum laude in Economics from Bocconi University in Milan, Italy. An economist specialized in Labor and Macroeconomics, Patrizia has published in international academic journals and has also lectured on sustainable finance and structured finance.
