Dr. Svetlana Ikonnikova is Professor of Resource Economics at the Technical University of Munich. Her research examines the economic, environmental, and social dimensions of energy and non-energy resource production, use, and international trade. She brings an international perspective and deep expertise in resource economics to debates on regional energy policy, environmental regulation, technological adoption, and market change.

With more than two decades of professional experience and a multidisciplinary background, including a PhD in Economics and an MS in Applied Physics and Mathematics, Dr. Ikonnikova is recognized for her work on data-driven modeling of complex systems. Her research focuses on aligning environmental and socioeconomic objectives with the need for secure resource supply. Grounded in real-world data and simulation methods, her work supports practical strategies for industrial transformation and resilient development
