Yaye Ngouye Ndao is a Senior Operations Officer at the World Bank, with a passion for creating positive change and is a staunch advocate for the causes of forced displacement. She is committed to advancing durable solutions that enable refugees and host communities to coexist harmoniously.  She is based in Kampala since July 2024, leading the Forced Displacement Agenda within the Uganda Country Office. She was previously based in Washington DC covering four Sahelian countries in the West African Region. Prior to joining the World Bank, Yaye worked for the European Union as senior public policy specialist and for the French Development Agency, covering sectors like agriculture, education, environment, and transport. She led strategic reforms in the governance sector in different countries. Yaye has an interdisciplinary background. She is an agronomist and agriculture economist by education and holds a master’s degree in public policy.
