Director, Blended Finance at the International Finance Corporation
Martin Spicer is currently Director, Blended Finance at the International Finance Corporation, where he manages a team of investment professionals responsible for co-investments originating from US$1.0 billion of blended finance facilities, including climate, agribusiness and SME themes. His responsibilities also include management of the IDA18 Private Sector Window, a $2.0 billion blended finance facility focused on the poorest and most fragile and violence affected countries (FCS/IDA countries). Martin has previously led teams responsible for investments in IFC’s Manufacturing, Agribusiness & Services business in Latin America, Telecommunications, Media and Technology business in Asia, Europe, Middle East & North Africa, and for Infrastructure & Natural Resources in southern Europe. He also served as a credit officer in the manufacturing and infrastructure sectors. Martin has lived both in Bangkok, Thailand and Istanbul, Turkey while working at IFC. He received his MBA from the Wharton School with a major in Finance and his MA from the School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) at Johns Hopkins. Prior to graduate school, he was a Peace Corps Volunteer in Gabon. He received a Bachelor of Science from Stanford University.
