Saturday, May 3 is World Press Freedom Day. In honor of this day, we are sharing a selection of print ads on the theme of "Silence kills democracy, but a free press talks" from the World Association of Newspapers and News Publishers.
World Press Freedom Day was established to inform the international community that freedom of the press and of expression are fundamental human rights and to asses the state of press freedom internationally. It is also a day to remember that many journalists face death, imprisonment, and intimidation in their work and much still needs to be done to defend them from attacks on their independence.
These print ads were produced by WAN-IFRA and their designer, firstname.lastname@example.org.
