This article did an amazing job at showing the relationship of people to bicycles, it goes to show that humans and bikes have a much deeper connection than just user and machine. At the core of our society is a desperate need for transportation and transportation reform. I was greatly surprised at the amount of carbon emissions that we, theoretically, can cut by 2050 if more poeple were to ride bikes. It is pretty obvious that the bicycle has had a huge impact not just on the way that we veiw transportation but the way it shapes our politics as well, that it is also an agent of demcracy and freedom around the world. This article really did show me that i should think about the bicycle from more than just the stand point of being a tool, or rather for more than just a tool for transportation.
