Alison currently works in the west and central Africa region where she focuses on developing and implementing large scale lending projects in basic education, education sector support, and youth employment, largely in post-conflict and/or fragile settings. She is particularly interested in holistic approaches to literacy, issues of language of instruction, and inclusive education for students with disabilities and holds a K-12 reading specialist qualification. She joined the Bank as a Junior Professional Associate in the Agriculture and Environmental Services anchor where she used her background in adult education to design e-learning courses for capacity building in the sector. Before joining the Bank she was the deputy director of International Education and Programs at George Washington University (GWU). She holds a Master's in Curriculum and Instruction - Reading Education from University of Virginia and a Master’s in International and Comparative Education from GWU
