Almedina joined the Middle East and North Africa unit at the World Bank Group’s Education Global Practice in 2017. She works on a broad range of analytical and operational projects linked to education, such as education service delivery in conflict and fragility, skills, gender issues, and management of education systems. Prior to joining the World Bank she worked for six years at the OECD on projects aiming to foster innovation in education, skills development for productivity and more generally contributed to projects benchmarking education and employment policies in non-OECD members against OECD good practices. She also led a research project on the intergenerational mobility of immigrants in OECD countries. Between 2009-2011 Almedina worked on various development projects in Bangladesh, Indonesia, Syria and Yemen. Almedina holds an Msc in Public Policy and Development and a PhD in Economics from Paris School of Economics.
