Blair Edward Lapres is an economist working on private sector development in the World Bank. In this role he specializes in global value chain analysis, strategic segmentation, and in assisting countries to gain competitiveness for their export industries. Since joining the Bank in 2010 has worked on a number of sectors, including agribusiness & food manufacturing, forest-based industries, as well as health and nutrition service delivery. He was previously involved in the operation of the Competitive Industries and Innovation Program (CIIP) and the South Asia Food and Nutrition Security Initiative (SAFANSI). Blair - a graduate in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University and Development Economics from Cambridge University - is originally from the United States and is currently based in Zagreb, Croatia.
