Carl is a principal consultant and investment officer with Deetken Impact, a Vancouver-based investment manager focused on financing renewable energy and inclusive finance in Latin America and the Caribbean. He has worked with clients throughout the Americas and travels regularly throughout the region for investment due diligence, portfolio monitoring, and to provide advisory services. Prior to joining Deetken in 2012, Carl worked at the Bank of Canada with a team of economists researching the macroeconomic risks related to household credit trends in Canada in the wake of the 2008 global financial crisis. Carl holds an Honours BA in Economics from the University of British Columbia and an MSc in Economics & Development from the University of Oxford.
