Knowledge Management Officer
Erika Vargas is a Knowledge Management (KM) Officer at the Social, Urban, Rural and Resilience Global Practice at the World Bank, in Washington D.C. She leads and coordinates the knowledge management and communication strategies for lending and technical assistance projects in the Disaster Risk Management and Climate Change Unit in the South Asia Region. Before joining the World Bank in 2008, she worked as a researcher in peace and conflict resolution, and crime and violence prevention at the Center for Latin American Studies at Georgetown University. Prior to this position she worked as a Diplomat at the Colombian Embassy in Washington D.C. Erika has more than 13 years of experience in knowledge management, communications and international development. She has a master of arts in Sociology and Media Studies from the New School University (NYC) and she has bachelor in Political Science from Universidad de los Andes in Colombia.
