Global Lead: Public Service Delivery, Governance Global Practice; and Program Leader: Gulf Countries
Dr. Brixi leads the World Bank’s Public Service Delivery Global Solutions Group fostering innovative context-specific service delivery solutions for clients. In addition, Dr. Brixi is Program Leader for Governance, Education, Health, Social Protection, Labor and Gender for the Gulf countries, guiding Bank Group engagement especially in Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates. In 2015, Dr. Brixi launched regional flagship report Trust, Voice, and Incentives: Learning from Local Success Stories in Service Delivery in the MENA Region. She also leads the Community of Practice on Public Finance Management for Service Delivery. 
 
With the World Bank since 1995, Dr. Brixi has led innovative engagement on public finance and fiscal risk management, governance, and human development across three regions. She authored World Bank China report Promoting Growth with Equity; led the Bank-wide Quality of Fiscal Adjustment Thematic Group; and published several books, including Government at Risk (Oxford University Press), and numerous articles.

During 2004-2010, Dr. Brixi took a leave from the Bank to serve as WHO Health Sector Development Coordinator in China, and subsequently as UNICEF Social Policy Chief in China. In these positions, she contributed to China’s policy reforms in health, social protection, and service delivery & financing. While in China, she was a Visiting Professor at Tsinghua University, School of Public Policy and Management. She holds graduate degree in economics and public policy from Woodrow Wilson School, Princeton University; post-graduate certificate in finance from the Sloan Business School, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT); and a PhD in physics from Masaryk University, Czech Republic.
