Jaime de Piniés Bianchi is a Senior Consultant at the World Bank working in the Macroeconomic and Fiscal Management Global Practice and supports projects in the Middle East and North Africa especially in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries.

Jaime had previously lead the regional study on “Achieving stable economic growth through diversification in the Caribbean” and was a contributor to the Latin American and Caribbean Semiannual Report from the Office of the Regional Chief Economist and to the Public Expenditure Review for Mexico as well as the Systematic Country Diagnostics for Belize, Costa Rica and Panama.

He holds a PhD and MA in Economics from Princeton University, a BA from Harvard University and a Law degree from the UNED, Spain.  He has worked in the private sector (including his own consulting firm, Piniés & Aguilar Asociados, The Global Consulting Group, Banco Santander and Chase Investment Bank), international organizations (IMF and the United Nations) and he has taught at The University of Texas at Austin and New York University.  Jaime is a Trustee of the American Management Association and a Member of the Advisory Board of the ISEAD Business School.
