Jeanne Verrier is an economist at the IMF Institute for Capacity Development. Prior to this, she worked in the IMF Research department (2009–2012), focusing on foreign bank participation, banking crises, and macro-financial linkages. She also worked in the Research Department of the World Bank (2014–2015), contributing to the research efforts on financial sector development, including flagship reports on long-term finance and cross-border banking. She also completed research projects at the Reserve Bank of India, the French Ministry of Economy in Bangkok and BNP Paribas in Singapore. She received a M.A. in Economics with Distinction from Johns Hopkins University and is a PhD candidate in Economics at the Graduate Institute, Geneva (IHEID). Her research interests include monetary policy transmission, bank ownership and financial inclusion.
