Jun Erik Rentschler is a Research Analyst for the WDR 2014, working with the World Bank SDN Chief Economist’s Office and the Global Facility for Disaster Reduction and Recovery (GFDRR). Before joining the World Bank, he worked as an Economic Adviser to the German Foreign Ministry, based at the German Embassy in Tokyo, where he focused on economic and energy policy, as well as reconstruction in the aftermath of the Japan 2011 earthquake and tsunami. Besides various internships in the private sector, he has worked on projects with the Grameen Microfinance Bank in Bangladesh and the Partners for Financial Stability Program by USAID in Poland. Jun holds an MSc in Economics from University College London.
