Karuna Ramakrishnan currently works in the WBG Singapore office as a Private Sector Development Analyst in the Trade and Competitiveness Global Practice. She has a global, multi-disciplinary background, having worked in four regions on the topics of trade facilitation and investment climate advisory. From Singapore, she currently serves client-governments in East Asia, and her role includes providing operational cross support, knowledge development, supporting outreach to Singapore partners, and is the point person for logistics and agribusiness trade within the team. She also works on T&C’s engagement with ISO in Geneva and Singapore, and is part of the core team that coordinates the partnership. 
 
Prior to joining the WBG, Karuna worked for trade consulting firms such as IHS Global Insight, Sandler, Travis and Rosenberg and ITR LLC on trade policy analysis and sector-specific trade remedies. Prior to that, she worked at CNBC India, producing their prime time news programming, and started a social enterprise which produces organic fertilizer that pays for the upkeep of an animal shelter. Karuna has an MS in Foreign Service (trade economics) from the School of foreign Service, Georgetown University, and a BA in Economics from the University of Madras.
