Michael Drabble

Senior Education Specialist
Michael Dabble joined the Tunis country office as the Senior Education Specialist in July, 2017, where he works closely with the education team and the Country Management Unit to coordinate the education program in Tunisia.   
 
Michael joined the Bank in 1999 as an Education Specialist in the Education Anchor researching large-scale education reforms.  From 2002 to 2008, he worked with the Education Africa team. Michael was Task Team Leader for Bank education projects in Guinea-Bissau, Cape Verde, Côte d’Ivoire and Guinea. He also worked with colleagues on Togo, Mauritania and Burkina Faso. He contributed to the preparation of several education country status reports. In 2008, Michael transferred to the Education Latin American and Caribbean team. He worked in Haiti, Guatemala, El Salvador and Nicaragua.  In 2013, Michael moved to Brasilia to coordinate the Bank education program where he led the preparation and supervision of large multi-sector DPO and IPF for subnational governments. He was responsible for education policy dialogue with a dozen of states and municipalities.
At the World Bank Michael has focused on all levels of education in low and middle-income countries.    
 
Prior to joining the World Bank, Michael worked as a consultant with Unicef, IDB, European Union and the Canadian International Development Agency. 

Michael holds a bachelor degree in Public Policy from the Institut d’Etudes Politiques of Bordeaux, a MBA from the Paris School of Business and MPA from the J.F. Kennedy School of Government, Harvard.
