Miles McKenna

Miles is a core member of the Global Value Chain (GVC) Global Solutions Group in the World Bank’s Trade and Competitiveness Global Practice. His recent work explores the role of standards and sustainability in GVCs, with a focus on how higher quality products and increased compliance with social, labor, and environmental standards can boost firm productivity and growth. He also works closely with the World Bank Group’s Competitive Sectors team, among others, on agribusiness projects in Africa, Europe and Central Asia, and East Asia and the Pacific. His interests include cross-cutting linkages between trade and climate resilience, the role of services in structural transformation, and the future of manufacturing. Miles holds an MSc in Global Energy and Climate Policy from the University of London, SOAS.
