Mohammad Sohail Kaakar is currently working as Director for Strategic Communication and Integrity at National Procurement Authority (NPA) of Office of the President of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan. Prior to this he has also led the NPA as Acting Director General and before that he used to be the Strategic Advisor to NPA. He has more than 12 years of work experience with numerous government and non-government organizations including international NGOs. Prior to joining Administrative Office of the President, he used to serve as the Spokesperson of Ministry of Public Works and the Program Director of Public Work Corps; a community recovery program that generated year round job and skills development opportunity for more than 2000 young unemployed Afghans in 64 remote districts of Afghanistan. Earlier in his career, He had the opportunities to work with Ministry of Finance on Afghanistan National Development Strategy (ANDS), with International Relief and Development Inc. on a USAID funded capacity development project, United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) and Afghan Women Resource Center. His career has evolved through serving in varied portfolios in variety of disciplines but with a focus on institutional reform, organizational development, system analysis and development, strategy and policy development, project management and training and capacity building. He has done his Bachelors in Faculty of Social Sciences Department of Sociology and Philosophy at Kabul University.
