Mugo Kibati is the former director general of Vision 2030 Delivery Secretariat, which is responsible for spearheading the implementation of a national blueprint and strategy aimed at making Kenya a newly industrialized, middle income country capable of providing a high quality of life for all its citizens by the year 2030. He was previously the founder of Miliki Ventures and group managing director and CEO of East African Cables. Mugo has worked at Lucent Technologies and Shell Petroleum in the US and Kenya. In addition to several corporate board positions, Mugo was until recently the National Deputy Chairman of the Federation of Kenya Employers, a director of the Kenya Association of Manufacturers, an alternate director of the East African Business Council, and a director of the Kenya Private Sector Alliance.

Mugo is also the vice chairman of the newly chartered Mombasa Polytechnic University Council. Mugo has a B.Tech in electrical engineering from Moi University, a masters degree in technology management from MIT, an MBA (business finance) from the George Washington University, and studied European Union economics at Oxford University. He is a Fellow of the third class of the Africa Leadership Initiative-East Africa and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
