Paavo Eliste is a Lead Rural Development Specialist at the World Bank. He is currently based in Beijing where he coordinates World Bank agriculture and rural work program in China. He has worked extensively on agricultural policy analysis and agricultural transition processes in Africa and East Asia regions. In China, the focus of his work is on rural poverty reduction in lagging areas, sustainable agriculture development and inter linkages between food security and food safety.
