Parth Shri Tewari
Parth Tewari is the Lead Private Sector Development Specialist and Head of Operations for the Competitive Industries Practice of the World Bank Group. Based in Singapore, he is an entrepreneurial professional with global experience in senior management in economic development, strategy consulting and corporate finance. Before joining the World Bank Group, Mr. Tewari led the entry into Asia of TechnoServe Inc., one of the pre-eminent global development organizations, and he expanded their operations in India as the Country Director. There he set up offices, built a team of world-class professionals and delivered on 12 grassroots programs with beneficiaries ranging from farmers to entrepreneurs. Prior to that, he worked with McKinsey & Comany in New York, primarily focusing on strategy development, high-tech industries and the financial-services industries. While at McKinsey, he also co-authored the widely quoted article "Brains Abroad," on leveraging expatriate talent for home countries, which was especially noted by many stakeholder in such countries as Korea, the United States and India. He started his career structuring corporate-finance deals, working with one of the most respected family-owned business in India, the Aditya Birla Group. Mr. Tewari received his Master's degree along with a certificate in public management from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business. He earned his undergraduate degree in Physics from the University of Delhi. Mr. Tewari serves on the Executive Council of the Stanford Singapore Alumni Association, and he is on the advisory board of the Center of Emerging Market Solutions at the Indian School of Business, Hyderabad, and of the Pondicherry Institute, a think tank.
