Richard Record is the World Bank’s Lead Country Economist for the Western Balkans. Based in Vienna, he coordinates the Bank’s engagement on equitable growth, finance and institutions across Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia and Serbia. Richard previously worked across a number of countries in the East Asia and Pacific, Europe and Central Asia, and Africa regions, managing programs on macroeconomics, fiscal policy, trade and private sector development, including assignments based in Kuala Lumpur, Lilongwe, Hanoi and Vientiane. He holds bachelors, masters and doctoral degrees in economics respectively from the London School of Economics, the School of Oriental and African Studies and the University of Manchester.
