Financial Sector Specialist
Stefanie Ridenour is a Financial Sector Specialist with the Finance & Markets Global Practice at the World Bank Group. She works closely with government and private sector stakeholders in emerging markets to design innovative financing instruments that enhance job creation and economic growth. She focuses primarily on early stage finance for entrepreneurs, financial inclusion, SME finance, and development impact bonds. 

Prior to the World Bank, she managed a global responsible finance initiative at a non-profit microfinance organization. During graduate school, she lived throughout Tunisia and worked with entrepreneurs and startups at L’Institut Arabe des Chefs d’Entreprises. Stefanie also created and led innovative economic development programs in Detroit while working for the Michigan Governor’s Executive Office. Stefanie holds a M.S. in International Development and Business from Georgetown University and a B.A. in International Relations and Middle East Studies from Michigan State University. She speaks French and is based in Washington D.C.
