Sujoyini Mandal is a consultant with the Urban unit in the East Asia and Pacific (EAP) region of the World Bank since July 2013. A recent Public Policy graduate (MPP, Harvard Kennedy School), she focused on energy policy where she researched global shale and natural gas development and sustainable energy innovation, in addition to her work on ‘smart cities’ with the Harvard Graduate School of Design. At the Bank, she is working on regional solid waste assessment and low-carbon cities in EAP. A native of Calcutta, India, Sujoyini also holds a Masters in International Relations from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore and has worked in Singapore with brief stints in India and Liberia on international development. She loves cities and is currently happily exploring Washington, DC.
