Sunny has worked as a communications specialist with the World Bank since 2012. Currently, she is a writer and editor for the Infrastructure Finance, Public-Private Partnerships & Guarantees group and provides communications support to the World Bank-led Global Wildlife Program (GWP), which works with 32 countries across Africa, Asia, and Latin America to promote wildlife conservation and sustainable development by combatting illicit trafficking in wildlife and promoting wildlife-based economies. She also provides editorial and communications support to the Amazon Sustainable Landscapes Program (ASL) and writes impact stories for the Energy Sector Management Assistance Program (ESMAP).

Prior to joining the Bank, Sunny worked as a journalist for several news outlets specializing in investigative reporting and special projects, including the Los Angeles Times. She served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Niger in a region with the last herd of giraffes in West Africa. Sunny has a Bachelor’s Degree in International Affairs from the University of Colorado, and a Master’s in Public Affairs Reporting from the University of Maryland.
