Bájale al Acoso (Stop Harassment) is a free SMS messaging platform, active in 100 percent of the public and private transportation systems in Quito. Since its launch in 2017, the platform has received more than 2,700 reports of sexual violence, which have been attended by a team of professionals in legal, psychological, security and social work areas (El Universo, 2019).

 

We spoke with Mauricio Rodas, Former Mayor of Quito, Ecuador about this prevention strategy and why other Latin-American cities should consider it – this and more, in 60 seconds!
