​Aifa Fatimata Ndoye Niane
Aifa Fatimata Ndoye Niane joined the World Bank in October 2011 as an agricultural economist based in Dakar, Senegal. Her work at the Bank specializes in agricultural productivity, commercial agriculture value chain management, land reform, value chains reform, gender and economic development, and the application ICT to agriculture. She manages projects in Mauritania, Senegal, the Gambia, and Cabo Verde.

Prior joining the World Bank, she worked for Senegalese and international agricultural research institutes. An agricultural engineer specialized in rural economics, she obtained a PhD in development economics from the Netherlands’s Wageningen University in 2010. She also received a degree in Feminist Development Economics from the International Institute of Social Studies in the Netherlands.
