This is a good indication that the region is moving forward and it gives us hopes that everyone will pay a fair portion of their tax - rich will pay more and poor will pay less. However, we have to be very careful implementing such an initiative, since not everybody will be able to take a burden of a property tax and simply will not be able to pay it. There should be rules for exemptions based on such criteria as size of the property and etc. I believe, because there are no robust property tax policy in place in ECA, this is the reason why the region has a least amount of homeless people. I think a wide spread property tax can increase the rate of homeless people in the region and we do not want it to happen.
