Alessandra Marini

Senior Social Protection Economist

Alessandra Marini is a senior social protection economist at the World Bank, where she works on operations supporting social protection programs in Latin American and European countries. She has worked extensively on the link between social protection and nutrition programs in the Latin American and Caribbean regions. She was TTL of several operations in Peru that supported the reduction of chronic malnutrition, including the AAA RECURSO, the DPL series REACT and recently the Peru Juntos Results for Nutrition Project. Prior to joining the Bank she worked as a researcher at Cornell University, in rural development projects in the Bolivian Altiplano and as an international economist in investment banking in London. She holds a PhD in Applied Economics from Cornell University.
