Program Officer, Identification for Development (ID4D) Initiative

Anna Metz is a Program Officer with the World Bank Group’s Identification for Development (ID4D) Initiative. She advises governments on the design and implementation of digital systems for improved service delivery and data-driven policymaking. Before joining the World Bank, Anna worked at the Center for Global Development, where her research focused on biometric ID technologies, global public goods, and barriers to private sector growth. She is the co-author of the book ‘Identification Revolution: Can Digital ID be Harnessed for Development?’. She holds a Master's in Public Policy from Georgetown University and a BA from the University of Warwick.
