Atul Agarwal

Atul Agarwal is a Senior Transport Specialist in the World Bank and is based in India. He has worked on several projects especially, in the field of Railways and urban transport. He worked as team leader for Mumbai Urban Transport Project. The project included augmenting suburban train services, city bus system, and several other works including where in about 100,000 people were resettled to build urban transport infrastructure in very congested areas in Mumbai. He was team leader for Mumbai Urban Transport project 2A also and now is leading preparation of third project in the series.
 
He is also co-team leader for Eastern Dedicated Freight Rail Corridor project in India. He worked on few urban rail projects in China also.
 
Presently he is team leader for preparation of Inland water transport project in Assam state. This project is supporting the Government of Assam to improve and transform the quality of inland water transport services and integrate it with Assam’s wider transport network.
 
He holds a master degree in transportation engineering. He is working with World bank since 2007.
