Daniel Shemie

Director of Strategy, Water Funds, The Nature Conservancy

Daniel Shemie serves as Director of Water Funds within The Nature Conservancy’s Global Water team. In this role, he manages the overarching strategies of accelerating the use and financing of natural infrastructure in urban water supply.

Before joining the Conservancy, Daniel was a partner at mWater, a non-profit that deploys point-of-use mobile technologies to monitor water quality. He also previously worked at the World Bank’s Water Unit on urban water projects in sub-Saharan Africa and led the Water Hackathon, a global software competition to solve locally-defined water problems. Daniel holds a M.Sc. in water science and management from the University of Oxford. He currently resides in Brooklyn, New York.
