Elina Scheja joined the Migration and Remittances Team in March 2010. Prior to joining the World Bank, she was working for the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA) as a policy specialist and senior private sector development advisor. She has previous working experience from the Finnish Ministry for Foreign Affairs, as well as research experience from Helsinki School of Economics and Tanzanian Economic and Social Research Foundation. Ms. Scheja holds a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Sussex and has recently worked with inclusive growth analytics as well as market development in different country contexts.
