Igor Kheyfets

Senior Economist

Igor Kheyfets is a Senior Economist in the World Bank’s Education Global Practice currently focusing on the Middle East and North Africa region. Since joining the World Bank in 2008, he has worked on issues of education finance, efficiency of resource utilization, use of data and analysis for policymaking, and the linkages between graduates’ skills and the labor market. He has authored a number of working papers and analytical reports on these topics, including more than a dozen public expenditure reviews in education, and has led operational engagements in Eastern Europe, Central Asia, the Middle East, and Latin America. Igor is a co-founder of the World Bank’s BOOST initiative for public expenditure analysis and holds a master’s degree in public policy from Georgetown University.
